Reciprocal reading adventure

Rm 18 broncos reading group has been learning about the chicken leg affect. We also learnt how to do reciprocal reading.
Some of us have never done reciprocal reading before. When we were reading the chicken leg, we learnt a lot of information about our body. Here are some interesting information that we have learnt about our body.

I learnt that we are taller when we lie down on our bed, but when we wake up, we begin to go shorter. By Mary

I learnt that gravity helps us get stronger and when it out of space there is no gravity so we could lift huge amounts easily.
By Kasanita

I learnt that gravity helps the blood flow though the body.In space that doesn't happen.

Maths adventure outdoors

Last week was maths week and room 18 were maths exploring outdoors. With our bodies we made right angles, acute angles and obtuse angles. We made angles and estimated the angles we were targeting for. Also we drew patterns to see how long they go for. We let our imagination run wild.
Here are some pictures.

Great shape though . Awesome co- operation 18.

Dragons: Saffrons skeleton

Saffron the hen had died... But that doesn't stop Bruno (the owner) and Saffron from going on an awesome adventure! Saffron died from eating rhubarb leaves. That very day that Saffron died, Bruno got a call from his neighbor, George, he asked if one of his hens died. That may seem like an odd question but George is a osteologist. Bruno didn't want Saffron to go on a show as a skeleton but then he thought what else could Saffron be doing.. rotting in their garden or going on a awesome adventure. Bruno took Saffrons skeleton to Georges workshop. There was a lot of bones from different types of animals such as seahorses, Sharks teeth, a flounder and there were also heaps of chemicals. The first thing George did was put saffrons body into hot boiling water, this will make it easier to remove the feathers.2 days later.. Bruno was back at the workshop. George showed him his magic helpers, they're dermestid beetles. Those beetles help him get rid of meat fibers that are still on the bones. Next they put the bones in a machine that removes the fat and oil from the skeleton. After they bleach it to make the bones look white and clean. Saffron ended up hanging with the dinosaurs.
