Warriors summary on A giraffe's been in my garden.

How do Animals grow plants?
Firstly the giraffe and zebra leave manure the people at the zoo put the manure in trucks.

Then,the trucks full of manure go to the compost yard and they put the manure over the black plastic.

They shoveled the manure together then they put the manure into the yellow bags of other manure.

They put the manure together. Then they put the manure in the other bags with others.

How do animals make plants grow?
Firstly, you need plants and soil, but not just any soil,If you do not know what soil is, just tell someone you know,like your mum or dad.

You can buy some from the garden shop's.When you buy a plant you must know how deep the hole must be for the plant to grow.Make sure you have soil in your garden.If you do not have soil buy some from the garden shop.

The compost of soil that has  photos of  the plant and there's also a picture of a giraffe.
The giraffe compost  has soil .That soil is made by giraffes.
Firstly,they get the manure from  the giraffes .Then they put it in the truck.Then they take it to a compost yard..Then they put a plastic black bag on top of it to cover the manure.Then the sun kills the weeds and the germs.Then it turns into dry soil (manure is pooh.)

Spelling Words

I have posted a link to the essential spelling words list on our homework tab. These are basic words that are essential to being successful when learning more sophisticated vocabulary and writing effectively.
Please make sure that you check if you can spell and use these words correctly.
Record the ones you do not know in your spelling notebook and learn them! This is additional to the words that I give you in class.
Use the strategies we practise at school to support you.

We have been learning to write for different audiences. Each group had a specific audience to write for. Do you think we were successful?? There are more presentations to come :-)

Today Emily and Alex from science in a van came to Rosebank school  to present experiments and materials,and explain the process.

KHAN Academy

Don't forget to access KHAN academy when you are at home. This website has lots of interesting and educational maths and science tutorials.
You can find the link for KHAN academy under the learning support tab or here if you are ready right now!
The lessons even have a few activities for you to finish afterwards. This will check how well you have understood the topic.
You can access the lessons by grade (e.g. grade 5=year 5). Do not worry about the grades-if you see a mathematical concept that you need to learn or you are simply just interested in it...watch it!

What is the worst that could happen ;-)
Make sure you come in and share what you have learned or recommend a tutorial for you friends.
