Our science explanations
The reason the food colouring went back up was because, when you put in the tablet it sinks to the bottom. Then, it starts to dissolve around the water at the bottom. After a while it spreads around the water, thats why the food colouring went straight back up.Then it became solid.
By Patrick
The reason that some of the food colouring went up is because pieces of the tablet went up and took some food colouring with it.It became solid because we left it there over night so it comes together.

How the disprin helped the food colour get through the oil is after the disprin dissolved the dissolved parts of it caught some food colour and since the dissolved disprin had co2 in it and the co2 wants to escape. It then takes the food colouring with it. That's my explanation of how the food colour got through the oil and went back up.

When the tablet went in the oil, water and food colouring, the tablet dissovled because carbon dioxide is trying to get out. when the tablet dissolved all the stuff floated up through the oil and water, the food colouring floated up with it.
By Bradley
The reason why the food colouring went up was because, when the disprin (tablet) went through the oil into the food colouring/water it started to dissolve like when you put a tablet into your mouth you put water with it and it starts to dissolve in your tummy. Then it mixed with the food colouring/water, became solid and rose to the top trying to let out some co2. (carbon dioxide)

After my observation I noticed that when we dropped the tablet in I think it was strong.I thought it was strong because when we dropped it the bubbles covered it up but the tablet never floated to the top

My explanation is food colouring mixed with water and oil. Firstly we grabbed a cup that was clear so you could see through it. secondly we put water in one cup and oil in another cup. thirdly we see the diffidence between oil and water. Next we poured the oil into the water and we watched closely on how its either immiscable or miscible. After that we put 10 little drops of food colouring into the oil and water. then we put a tablet in and we saw it dissolve.
Lastly we saw the difference day and it started looking different

My explanation is about the food colouring and the tablet when we put the food colouring into the water and oil the food colouring sinks to the bottom and leaving only a little in the middle of the oil. This causing the water to change colours and when we put the tablet into the water and oil it dissolves and then the food colouring explodes in the water and oil and then the food colouring goes to the top and then it turns solid when you wait for a while.

The reason why the food colouring came up was because when you put the disprin tablet in the oil, water and food colouring the tablet goes straight down it doesn't float it just sinks. When the tablet goes down it forces the food colouring , like when you light a fire the flame goes up similarly when the tablet goes down the food colouring goes up. (I think that the food colouring and the tablet is immiscable) because when you put oil and water together the oil is always at the top, that's why i think the food colouring stays at the top solid.
